The Southport Project lives up to its coastal namesake with beachy accents and carefully coordinated design elements. We kept a neutral pallet with a few moments of pale blues and brass to evoke a seaside vibe you’d never expect to find in a quiet midwest subdivision.

A traditional coastal exterior calls for a wash of light paint and a textured canvas of shake shingles. Black lanterns, 4-over-4 window grids and painted brick add their own dimension to the Southport Project’s facade while still riding the wave of laid-back luxury.

The Entry

White oak floors and crisp white walls make a bright and airy first impression. Layers of intricate trim work and organic textures combine to bring the entry space to life. And of course, nothing says ‘coastal’ quite like a calming blue front door.

The Office

This work space is black and white and anything but boring. We stuck to a monochromatic decor scheme with photos of bygone beach days and antiqued brass. The result was an office that felt fresh, youthful and inviting.

The Kitchen

We kept every corner of the Southport kitchen light and airy with white cabinets, polished nickel plumbing and hardware and beautiful quartz countertops. Warmth was added in with the rattan barstools, woven baskets and white oak pantry door. To keep the glass cabinets from feeling messy, we again stuck to a monochromatic color scheme, this time mixing white ceramics and glassware.

The Half Bath

What’s a seaside-inspired home without a little shiplap? We packed all the character we could inside this little power room with a white oak vanity, patterned tile and shaded vanity lights.

The Lockers

The perfect place to hang a beach bag! Or to hide your winter parka and the kid’s dirty boots. We won’t judge.

The Master Bath

These gorgeous French doors lead to cool marble floors, shiplap walls, brass sconces and more polished nickel hardware. By placing the vanities opposite one another, their modern round mirrors reflect depth and light, allowing this spacious master bath to feel even more open and inviting.
